Following the announcement of a holiday due to the Mandous cyclone, Anna University has announced to reschedule the examinations earlier scheduled on December 9 and 10, 2022.

"It is informed that theory examinations scheduled on 09/12/2022 and 10/12/2022 of November/December 2022 examinations of Anna University pertaining to all affiliated colleges for the UG and PG degree programmes are rescheduled due to the declaration of the holiday by the government of Tamil Nadu in view of Mandous cyclone," read the Anna University's official notice.

The exam which was to be held on December 9 and December 10, is postponed to December 24, 2022, and December 31, 2022.

India Meteorological Department had predicted that heavy rainfall to occur over the southern states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Hence, the Tamil Nadu government announced a holiday for schools in some districts due to heavy rains in the Tiruvallur, Uthukottai Taluks and Kancheepuram districts. 

Anna University decides to file provisional patents

The university has been witnessing a surge in the number of patents granted and published year after year. Now, it has decided to file provisional patents to safeguard the intellectual property of its students and faculty members.

“In the last two years, there has been a significant rise in the number of patents granted to the university. And, one of the main reasons for it is that during the pandemic, the Patent Office became very active and the time for granting a patent was appreciably reduced,” said Vice Chancellor of the university, R Velraj, as reported by Indian Express.
