DU Admissions 2020: More than 4100 applicants registered on Day 1 of 4th cut off admissions
The official data reveals that on Day 1 of the DU 4th cut off admissions, the affiliated colleges received as many as 4102 applications.
DU Admissions 2020: Delhi University released DU Fourth Cut off 2020 on November 1, 2020. According to the decided schedule, Delhi University Admissions 2020 under the fourth cutoff started on Monday, i.e. November 2, 2020. The official data reveals that on Day 1 of the DU 4th cut off admissions, the affiliated colleges received as many as 4102 applications. At the end of the third cut-off list, many seats become vacant in few colleges after students’ withdrawal. So far, a total of 64 per cent of seats in Delhi University have been filled. Delhi University would be filling 70,000 undergraduate seats through merit-based allotment.
The varsity recorded about 55000 admissions until the 3rd cut off list. However, this number went down to 45, 542 before the release of the fourth cut-off list. This is normal as many students exit the process after entrance examination results are announced. The withdrawal of many seats led to the release of the 4th cutoff by various colleges affiliated with DU. This year, the admission process is completely online considering the ongoing pandemic situation. A dip of about 1 to 2 per cent was also seen in the 4th cut off list released.
"A total of 4,102 candidates applied for admission on the first day under the fourth cut off list out of which 1,682 were approved today itself," a senior DU official said. "Over 55,000 seats were filled earlier, however, after cancellations and withdrawals, the final number is 45,542. There are total 70,000 seats this year," he added.
Candidates must note that the last date to register for DU Admissions 2020 under the fourth cut-off would is November 4. The fees can be paid until Friday, i.e. November 6. Delhi University would also be releasing a Fifth Cut off List 2020 on November 7.
