DU Exams 2022: Congress-affiliated National Student Union of India (NSUI) has begun an indefinite strike outside the Delhi University's Arts Faculty against the offline mode of examination of students of semesters 2nd, 4th and 6th.

The Delhi University had earlier announced that it will conduct semester I, III and V or odd semester exams in open book exam format whereas exams for the even semesters; i.e. II, IV and VI will be conducted in physical mode.

However, Delhi NSUI President Kunal Sehrawat alleged varsity administration of being partial. He said, “When 70 per cent of the classes were held online and the colleges have resumed recently, then why exams for ‘even’ semesters students are being held online. This is a sheer partiality on the part of the administration.”

He further stated that several students belong to different states. “Many students are unable to come to Delhi and the PG rents have skyrocketed. For this semester, the exams should be held online.”

National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) secretary Nitish Gaur said they will continue the strike until their demands are met. Sehrawat also urged the DU administration to listen to students' grievances and address them as soon as possible or he will sit outside the Art faculty on an indefinite strike.

Last week, the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) had also reached out to the University's Vice-Chancellor demanding hybrid mode of exams for students of even semester. The Delhi University students also protested in front of the varsity's VC office demanding open book exams (OBE).
