Gauhati University Exams 2022 postponed for postgraduate, Integrated MCom
It is notified for information of all concerned that the scheduled PG and Int. MCom examinations have been postponed, the varsity said in an official notification.
Gauhati University has announced that it has decided to postponed the postgraduate (PG) and Integrated MCom examinations. Though the examinations have been postponed, the revised date for the exams will be announced later. In an official notification, the Controller of Examination of Gauhati University said, "It is notified for information of all concerned that the scheduled PG and Int. MCom examinations have been postponed."
"The rescheduled programme will be published later on. This is issued with the approval of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, G.U. dated 28.01.2022," it added.
It must be noted that the examinations were earlier scheduled to be held from January 29. However, with students staging sit-in-protest inside the University campus on Friday; i.e. January 28, 2022, demanding the authorities to postpone the offline examination due to rising COVID-19 cases, the exam was postponed.
Earlier, in wake of rise in COVID cases and its variant Omicron, the Gauhati University authorities had rescheduled the Postgraduate and Integrated MCom odd semester exams that were scheduled from January 21, 2022. The University in its official notification announced that all exams that were scheduled on January 21, 22 and 24, 2022, have been rescheduled and the new dates for the examinations will be notified shortly.
“Other examinations scheduled from January 27 will be held as per schedule. The practical examination, too, will be held as per schedule,” the notice had mentioned. However, now it is postponed again.
Assam reported 2,294 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, pushing the tally to 7,13,685, according to the bulletin issued by the National Health Mission (NHM).
