Himachal Pradesh University Exams 2021 cancelled for UG courses, students to be promoted to next class

In view of the decision taken by the varsity, it has also been decided to withdraw the date sheet issued for conducting the second-year examination from July 15. 

The Himachal Pradesh University has announced that it has decided to promote first and second-year students of undergraduate classes to the next class. The decision has been taken in view of the recommendations made by the state Cabinet. The varsity in a notification stated that "It is notified for information of all concerned that on the recommendation of the Committee constituted by the Hon’ble ViceChancellor in order to take decision with regard to promotion of first and second-year students as per the decision of the State Government in view of COVID 19, it has been decided that in the light of the decision taken by the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet to promote the first and second-year students, the date sheets for holding the examinations for Undergraduate classes in respect of BA/B.Sc./B.Com, Shastri, second year and BA/B.Sc. Honors second year issued on July 5, 2021, for conducting the examinations of 2nd year scheduled w.e.f. July 15, 2021 stands withdrawn."

Last year too, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the varsity had promoted nearly 90,000 students in the first and second years. The students who were eligible for promotion to higher classes included regular students and those taking distance education from the International Centre for Distance Education and Open Learning (ICDEOL). The promotion was based on previous class performances of the student, 50-50 evaluation of performance in exams and internal assessment.
