ICSI collaborates with Bharathiar University for academic collaboration
The collaboration aims to bring together the efforts of the two institutions for imparting knowledge and honing the skills of students, academicians and professionals of both the institutions, an ICSI release stated.
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Bharathiar University under the "ICSI Academic Collaborations" initiative. The collaboration aims to bring together the efforts of the two institutions for imparting knowledge and honing the skills of students, academicians and professionals of both the institutions, an ICSI release stated.
A panel discussion was organised on the topic "Strategic Plan for Implementation of NEP in Universities and Professional Institutes" through virtual mode on Sunday which was followed by the agreement-signing ceremony.
ICSI President CS Ashish Garg said the agreement would not just help in fostering the relationship between the two partner institutes -- ICSI and Bharathiar University -- but would also promote executive education programmes. Sharing his happiness on Bharathiar University joining hands with ICSI, university Vice Chancellor Dr P Kaliraj said: "This MoU [agreement] will not only help in developing the skills by enhancing the curriculum but will also build the character of the students."
The ICSI, constituted under Company Secretaries Act, 1980, is a government recognized body that produces Company Secretaries in India. Every candidate, who is declared 'pass' in Professional Programme Examination in addition to acquiring practical experience, shall be required to undergo compulsory practical training for four months.
Bharathiar University is a state government-owned University in Tamil Nadu. It is accredited by UGC and has 104 affiliated colleges. It offers education in Tamil, History, Management, Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Education, English, Botany, Zoology, Bioinformatics, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Physics, Medical Physics, Psychology, Linguistics and many others at UG, PG and PhD level.
