IIM Amritsar Inaugurates Executive MBA Batch 2026

The sixth batch of the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA-06) was introduced by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Amritsar.

IIM Amritsar recently welcomed the sixth batch of the Executive MBA programme. The inaugural ceremony took place on 25 July 2026 at IIM (Indian Institute of Management) Amritsar campus. It was conducted in a hybrid mode to welcome the new group of professionals from various industries for their transformative two-year learning course journey. The course would offer them advanced managerial skills, leadership capabilities, and strategic thinking. 

Educational Background of participants in the sixth EMBA batch

This new set of individuals in the sixth EMBA batch has people from different fields; some holding a commerce degree, some from an engineering background, while others have an architecture background. This batch is bringing together professionals with work experience from four to twenty-two years, creating a diverse learning environment and peer collaboration opportunities for the individuals.

Core message by the Chief Guest 

Lt. Gen. Ajay Chandpuria, AVSM, VSM, Commandant, Army War College, was the chief guest of the inauguration ceremony. His wise words started with welcoming the participants warmly and encouraged them to get the most out of the knowledge they will receive from the institute. He also assured them that they would experience the competent faculty who will help them grow efficiently, along with peer-to-peer learning from individuals with such diverse backgrounds.

• Prof. Vartika Dutta, Chairperson, Executive MBA Programme, congratulated everyone and encouraged the participants to be open to new ideas, peer learning, discussions, and strive to become future leaders.
• Prof. Gurbir Singh, Dean - Research & Strategic Initiatives, emphasized that the participants are expected to think far beyond the classroom discussions and instructions and think like a leader by applying managerial concepts in real life. 
• Mr. Amarinder Singh, Senior Director, Virtuous Digital and Alumnus of the Executive MBA Programme, told all the participants that the Executive MBA has helped him both personally and professionally. Hence, he enlightened everyone to give their best by sharing his own inspiring journey.
• Prof. Samir Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Amritsar, discussed the commitment of the institute to innovation, leadership, and academic excellence. He warmly asked the participants to get the most out of what the institute has to offer to become successful future leaders.

The ceremony had faculty members, new EMBA participants, alumni members, TimesPro representatives, academic associates, and the honorable chief guest. It concluded well with a vote of thanks, marking a new formal commencement of the EMBA-06 batch.
