IIM, IIT and ISI jointly invite applications for Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics

Candidates interested in PGDBA must note that it is a two-year full-time residential diploma programme aimed at creating business analytics professionals employable by leading Indian and foreign firms.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata commenced the admission application process for the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA), jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and ISI Kolkata. Candidates interested in PGDBA must note that it is a two-year full-time residential diploma programme aimed at creating business analytics professionals employable by leading Indian and foreign firms. The last date to submit application online at https://www.iimcal.ac.in/programs/PGDBA latest is April 20, 2021. The application fee is Rs.1250/- for SC, ST and PwD candidates and Rs.2500/- for all other categories.

Candidates with an analytical mind-set interested in tackling challenging business problems, and possess an inclination towards mathematics can apply for the programme. Candidates enrolled under this programme will visit the three institutions- ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta. Each of the three institutes will focus on a separate area of business analytics, in accordance with its expertise and competence.

Applicant must hold a Graduate/Post graduate degree such as BTech/ BE/ MSc/ MCom or equivalent under 10+2+4/10+2+5/10+2+3+2, with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree. Those with 10+2+3 (Engineering diploma) + 3 (lateral entry into BE/BTech) with at least 60% or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (BTech/ BE) or with 10+2+4 (BSc) with at least 60% or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (BSc) or with BCom + CA with at least 60% (Intermediate and Final examinations of the CA considered together) are also eligible. For SC/ ST and Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale. Those in final year of the qualifying course are also eligible to apply.

The shortlisting of the applicants will be based on a Personal Interview (PI) in the PGDBA-2021 entrance exam schedule to be held on May 9, 2021 (Sunday) at Centres across the country as per the list given at https://www.iimcal.ac.in/important-information

The entrance test will be of 3-hour duration having 50 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) from Verbal Ability (15 questions), Logical Reasoning (5) questions Data Interpretation and Data Visualization (5) and Quantitative Aptitude (25). Each question will carry 3 marks. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrectly answered question.

The final score for selection is calculated on the basis of entrance exam score (45 % weightage) Personal Interview (40), Points for Class XII marks (8) and Work experience (7). Details may be seen at https://www.iimcal.ac.in/programs/PGDBA.
