IIT Jammu 7th Convocation: 420 Degrees Awarded to BTech, PG and PhD Students

IIT Jammu Convocation 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Jammu conducted its 7th convocation, where degrees were awarded to students of academic batch of 2026. A total of 420 degrees were given across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. Degrees were awarded included 209 BTech, 124 MTech, 23 MSc and 64 PhD degrees. IIT Jammu convocation also recognised students for outstanding academic performance across various programmes and departments.

IIT Jammu Convocation 2026: Gold Medal Winners

Shankar M. Venugopal, Vice President, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Mahindra Research Valley, presided over IIT Jammu Convocation ceremony as chief guest. Amitabh Ranjan, Vice Chairman, pan IIT alumni India, attended event as guest of honour. Among graduating students, Vivek Kumar Shandilya from Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering received President’s Gold Medal for securing highest CGPA among BTech graduates.

Ayush Raj from Department of Chemical Engineering was awarded Director’s Gold Medal for his best overall performance. Among postgraduate students, Mohammad Shamsul Haq, from MTech Civil Engineering programme, received Institute Gold Medal for obtain highest CGPA among MTech graduates. Sheikh Aabid Nisar, from MSc Chemistry, received Institute Gold Medal for highest CGPA among MSc graduates.

IIT Jammu Silver Medal Winners

IIT Jammu also conferred silver medals on students who obtained highest CGPA in their respective branches. BTech silver medal recipients included Ayush Raj (Chemical Engineering), Khushboo (Civil Engineering), Chaitanya Tandon (Computer Science and Engineering), Nageshwar Kumar (Electrical Engineering) and Harshit Beri (Mechanical Engineering).

Among postgraduate programmes, silver medals were awarded to Shivangi Sharma (MTech Chemical Engineering), Anshu Kumari (MTech Computer Science and Engineering), Sandeep Kumar (MTech Electrical Engineering), Binod Kumar (MTech Mechanical Engineering) and Akshita (MSc Physics).
