IIT Kanpur and Vietnam National University Collaborate for Academic and Research Growth
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Vietnam National University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance academic and research collaboration. This agreement is a milestone in strengthening the partnership between two institutions in science and engineering. It will help researchers, faculty, and students from both universities by promoting knowledge exchange and driving innovation.
The major collaboration areas include the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medical diagnosis and hospital systems customised for Vietnam, AI-powered education and research with a focus on language learning technologies, advanced AI techniques for infrastructure defect detection, smart city development projects, material prediction and innovative uses of carbon-carbon materials, and drone technology for rescue missions and agricultural enhancement.
Prof. Nguyen Dinh Duc, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, VNU, said, "IIT Kanpur has expertise in many of the critical areas of research that are important to our institution as well. I look forward to strong collaborations between IITK and VNU, both on academic and research fronts."

IIT Kanpur has not released course-wise placements information so far for 2022-23 Phase-I placements (which got over in December). According to media reports, phase 1 of the placement session 2022-23 concluded with 1,200 job offers received from over 250 companies. IIT Kanpur the highest package (domestic) stood at INR 1.9 crore per annum. The recruitment drive witnessed 74 international offers and 208 PPOs and a total of 1,198 students accepted the job offers.
