IIT Mandi, AIIMS Bilaspur collaborate for research, academic activities
The joint research and academic collaboration activities will cater to various domains related to medical science and technology, including medical imaging, digital pathology, point-of-care testing devices, bioinformatics, etc.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bilaspur have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to conduct joint research and academic exchange activities. The agreement was signed in a meeting between the two institutes in a meeting attended by Ajit Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Mandi, Dr Vir Singh Negi, Director, AIIMS Bilaspur, and Venkata Krishnan, Dean (SRIC), IIT Mandi.
As per the MoU, both institutions will work on joint research projects and short-term joint academic programmes in the future, IIT Mandi said. IIT Mandi Director Ajit Chaturvedi said, “We are looking forward to jointly work and excel in the field of medical sciences for the betterment of society at large.”
Key initiatives of the agreement are joint international conferences, workshops and seminars on medical and public health, exchange of information, exchange of information on teaching and other literature relevant to educational and research programmes and to link both sides of the medical industry, device and equipment, based on mutual agreements, and in accordance with existing laws.
A statement from IIT Mandi said, “The joint research and academic collaboration activities will cater to various domains related to medical science and technology, including medical imaging, digital pathology, point-of-care testing devices, bioinformatics, endocrinology, biomaterials, telemedicine, among others.”
