IIT Ropar Signs MoU with Haryana Technical Education Department to Strengthen Technical Education

Indian Institute of Technology Ropar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Haryana Department of Technical Education to strengthen technical education and improve students’ employability in the state. This MoU was signed in presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Under this collaboration, IIT Ropar will provide technical expertise and guidance to Haryana’s technical education institutions. The partnership is aimed at making technical education more relevant to current industry requirements and creating better opportunities for students in employment, entrepreneurship and skill development.
IIT Ropar to Help Modernise Laboratories
As part of agreement, IIT Ropar will provide technical guidance for modernisation of laboratories in technical education institutions across Haryana. The institute will also support the development of a Centre of Excellence. This initiatives are expected to strengthen practical learning facilities and provide students with access to improved infrastructure and modern technologies. The collaboration will also focus on enhancing the overall quality of technical education in the state.
Support for Curriculum Revision
IIT Ropar will assist Haryana Department of Technical Education in making necessary changes to the technical education curriculum. The focus will be on promoting outcome-based education, with greater emphasis on practical knowledge, skills and learning outcomes. This curriculum support is expected to help students develop skills that are relevant to professional and industry requirements, thereby improving their preparedness for employment and entrepreneurship.
Faculty Training and Certificate Courses
The MoU also provides for faculty development programmes, certificate courses and workshops. IIT Ropar will support initiatives aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of faculty members. In addition, educational exposure visits will be organised to give students and faculty members greater exposure to emerging technologies, academic practices and professional environments.
