Kerala University Exams 2021: Kerala University exams scheduled to commence from Monday, June 28, 2021, begin despite facing massive campaigning from students seeking postponement of the exam. Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, the students criticised the university’s decision to conduct the exams. “We are not worried about the exams. But is there any guarantee for our safety in college? How should we reach the college when the public transport is interrupted?” asked the students. Kerala Technical University decided to commence the exams online. Classes for the students are also being conducted online for the last 15 months.

If the technical university can conduct the exams online, why the Kerala University is conducting the exams offline, the students asked with disappointment. In order to declare protest against the conduct of exams, various students created WhatsApp groups. “We have contacted ministers and officials directly. But nobody is ready to understand our worries,” complained the students. The students have also conducted a social media survey seeking opinions on conducting the exams. Earlier, MP Shashi Tharoor had declared support to the students. In a tweet, he pointed out the study of Psychological Research Centre found that 60 percent of students are battling depression due to the COVID crisis. Students welcomed Tharoor’s tweet which supported them.

Shashi Tharoor also appealed to the Kerala governor and Chief Minister to rethink on the decision. Meanwhile, the students have been declaring their protests by commenting on the Facebook posts of the union minister of education and Chief Minister. Parents also expressed their concern over sending their children to colleges amid the pandemic.
