The partnership aims to create opportunities for students through industry interaction while supporting innovation in emerging technologies. The agreement was signed at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus. As part of the collaboration, students will get exposure to real-world technology applications, industry experts and research initiatives.
Focus on AI, Research and Student Engagement
Under the partnership, L’Oréal and BITS Pilani Hyderabad will work together on several academic and industry-focused initiatives. These include joint hackathons, innovation challenges, guest lectures, seminars and curriculum support. The collaboration will also create opportunities for students to participate in research projects and engage with professionals working in areas such as AI, data engineering and digital transformation. Officials said the initiative is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements while preparing students for future technology careers.
Students Introduced to L’Oréal’s Beauty Tech Ecosystem

Students attended sessions on Generative AI, Agentic AI, data engineering and other digital technologies that are being used across L’Oréal’s global operations. The delegation also showcased some of the company’s Beauty Tech solutions, highlighting how artificial intelligence, science and creativity are shaping modern beauty products and services.
Partnership Supports L’Oréal’s India Tech Expansion
The collaboration comes after L’Oréal announced its Global Tech Hub in Hyderabad during the World Economic Forum earlier this year. The company plans to invest more than Rs. 3,500 crore (€350 million) in the facility by 2030. The hub is expected to focus on technologies such as AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI and data science, while supporting innovation for L’Oréal’s global business.
Speaking on the partnership, L’Oréal India Tech Hub Head Prashant Vijay said the collaboration will help the company connect with talented engineering students and accelerate its AI and data-driven initiatives. BITS Pilani Hyderabad officials said the partnership will encourage collaborative research in areas such as life sciences, sustainability, artificial intelligence and advanced product innovation. They added that industry partnerships play an important role in preparing students for evolving technology careers.
