The midday meal scheme has also been resumed at Mangalaganthori in Konaje which was earlier halted because of the pandemic. It was launched to give free midday meals to the day scholars from economically backward families who were unable to afford afternoon meals. Currently, over 100 students are beneficiaries of this programme. The entire midday meal scheme responsibility is shouldered by the college union members.
Yadapadithaya also made a personal contribution of Rs 1 lakh to the fund to start the midday meals. “Others too have donated for the scheme,” he said.
