Shivaji University Summer Exams 2022: Shivaji University Kolhapur (SUK) has released a fresh schedule for the summer examination for undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and other courses. As per the schedule released by the varsity, the SUK Summer Exams 2022 will begin on July 19. The varsity has released the new schedule after it had to cancel the exam earlier as students demanded that all the exams should be conducted in Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format in offline mode.

Earlier, the exams were supposed to take place in the descriptive answer format. However, the academic council of the university, after much deliberation with experts decided that the examinations should be conducted in the MCQ format. As per a statement issued by the SUK, each paper will have 25 questions of two marks — a total of 50 marks. The students will be given one hour to solve the examination paper and there will be no negative marking.

Students must note that the paper will be framed from the entire syllabus and not the partial syllabus as it was during the online exams during pandemic time. The University also announced that the students will be allocated exam centres. As per the university, over 2 lakh students from over 561 different courses will appear for the exams, the TOI report stated.

SUK semester exams for various graduate and postgraduate courses were scheduled to start on June 25, however, were postponed after the opposition from the student body. The varsity had announced earlier that the semester exams of engineering and law courses will be held in offline MCQ format while for other courses, it will be conducted in the offline descriptive method. However, after students protest it rolled out its decision.
