Delhi University and the college have been locked in a tussle with St. Stephen's been insisting that it will give 85 per cent weightage to CUET scores and 15 per cent to interviews across the categories. Now, the college has mentioned the same thing in the admission notice that it had posted on its website last month.
The Delhi University, however, has directed that the colleges should conduct interviews only for the reserved category students. The varsity had also written to the college stating that they have to follow the Executive Council resolution of conducting admissions to general seats based on the CUET scores.
St Stephen's College however said that it reserves the right to proceed with admissions according to its own policy guaranteed to it as a minority institution. The Delhi University has sought legal opinion in the matter. DU Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh expressed shock and said that the college has not communicated anything with the varsity after the last letter exchanged on the subject, as reported by TOI.
