Students attacked inside Ramjas college, SFI demands action against those involved

The Students Federation of India has alleged that three of the students of Ramjas College in Delhi were brutally attacked by the hooligans inside the campus and has demanded strict action against those who are involved. 

While speaking on the same,  Ramjas College Principal Manoj Khanna, however, said that he has not received any such complaint regarding the incident. The students, who are SFI activists, were "verbally and physically" abused by some people following an argument, the student's body said. They have been identified as Akhil, Sachin and Aman -- all third-year students. They have suffered injuries in the incident, the SFI said.

"SFI Delhi condemns the lack of student safety in campus spaces, and also the hooliganism demonstrated in Ramjas college today. We demand immediate and stringent action upon the perpetrators," the SFI said in a statement.

The students' body also alleged that the college guards has also refused to act and stood as mere spectators.

"The attackers, who are suspected to be not bonafide students of Ramjas, were given free entry into the campus, and were allowed to leave through the college gate after beating up the final year UG students, with no consequences," the statement added.

As per the reports, one group having affiliation with SFI edited a caste-based slogan painted by ABVP supporters over a wall and changed it to another caste-based slogan, Delhi Police informed. After which a scuffle broke out in which students from both sides suffered minor injuries. 

"Complaints have been received from both the groups alleging excesses by the other group. Legal action is being initiated as per law," Police said.
