Colleges in Odisha reopen for first year undergraduate students, check guidelines
In a letter to the head of the institutions, Principal Secretary of the department Saswat Mishra had said that it is mandatory to wear face masks all the time and social distancing should be maintained in classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and other places.
Colleges in Odisha have begun the physical classes for the first-year undergraduate students for the 2021-22 academic session while adhering to all COVID-19 safety protocols, the higher education department said. It must be noted that classroom teaching has been suspended since March 2020 due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and now finally it has been resumed in offline mode.
In a letter to the head of the institutions, Principal Secretary of the department Saswat Mishra had said that it is mandatory to wear face masks all the time and social distancing should be maintained in classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and other places. Hostel facilities will also be provided to students and coronavirus guidelines should be followed there, the letter said.
Classroom teaching of first-year postgraduate students will begin from November 15, as Mishra mentioned in the letter.
While speaking about the resuming offline classes, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said he expects that offline classes till class 7 may resume after Diwali as the possibility of a third wave seemed to be reducing. The government will soon take a call on the matter, Mr Dash said.
Schools in Odisha reopened for students of Class 8 on October 26. Physical classes had started for classes 10 and 12 on July 26 and for class 11 from October 21.
Odisha schools reopened for students of Class 8. The schools have been reopening while adhering to all the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines. As per the official notification on the official website of the School and Mass Education Department, the government and private schools have been reopened for the students of Class 8 from October 25.
