COVID-19 Surge: Educational institutions in Chandigarh to remain closed until May 15
The decision to shut all the Institutions and libraries in Chandigarh is taken due to high search in covid cases in the state.
Chandigarh administration has announced that all the educational institutions, including schools, colleges, coaching institutions will remain closed due to the covid pandemic curfew imposed in the state. All the educational institutions and libraries will remain closed till May 15th, 2021. The decision to shut all the Institutions and libraries in Chandigarh is taken due to high search in covid cases in the state.
As per the latest official statement of Chandigarh Administration, " Weekend curfew to be imposed from 5 a.m. on Saturday to 5 a.m. on Monday only essential activities will be allowed during weekend curfew also all educational institutions schools colleges coaching Institutions library acceptable remain closed till May 15."
Earlier, the education department of Chandigarh had announced one-month summer vacations for government schools from May 1, and the Union Territory administration directed all educational institutions including schools to remain closed till April 30 except for all agent and time-bound academic activities.
Many other states have also announced week and curfew due to this early going covid crisis and have also deferred many state and national level exams across the nation. To further stop the spread of covid-19 many states across the nation have imposed strict lockdown in their states.
Meanwhile, Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has also cancelled the PSEB 10th exams 2021. The PSEB 12th exams 2021 have been postponed and will be conducted at a later date. The new PSEB 12th date sheet 2021 will be released after reviewing the situation. The Chief Minister took these decisions during a virtual COVID review meeting with top officials and medical experts. Students of classes 5, 8, and 10 will be promoted without an exam.
