Delhi Private Schools Winter Break Extended! According to the directions released by the Delhi government, the winter vacation for private schools in the National Capital will now continue until January 15. A circular from the Delhi government's Directorate of Education mentioned that the holiday has been extended considering cold wave conditions. Earlier, the private schools were supposed to reopen after winter break on January 9. This weekend was the coldest one in Delhi NCR. The city is also witnessing dense fog in the morning which is resulting in delay of flights, trains as well.
To be noted that the Government schools have already announced their winter vacations until January 15. With dip in temperature, private schools are also closed now
The Delhi government on Sunday announced that the remedial classes during winter break for students of classes 9 and 12 in all government schools will be suspended. Notice issued by Directorate of Education (DoE) stated that remedial classes were cancelled due to severe cold wave and dense fog conditions in the region. However, the practical exam, project assessment and internal assessment for classes 10 and 12 will continue as per schedule.
Official notice reads, “Keeping in view the prevailing conditions of extreme cold wave in Delhi, all the Heads of Govt. Schools of the Directorate of Education are directed to suspend these remedial classes with immediate effect."
IMD has issued a warning that dense to very dense fog is very likely to continue in some parts during night and morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi & adjoining north Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in the next two days.
