Following the declining cases of the novel coronavirus in the national capital, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) made an announcement last week stating that schools can resume offline sessions for all students from Monday.
Delhi School, College Reopening: Following the government’s order, schools and other educational institutions in the National are reopening today, November 1, 2021, for all classes. They have been closed for a prolonged period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the declining cases of the novel coronavirus in the national capital, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) made an announcement last week stating that schools can resume offline sessions for all students from Monday.
Meanwhile, teachers and other staff members of schools under the Delhi Directorate of Education, who have not taken a single dose of a COVID-19 vaccine until October 15, will not be allowed to attend schools. Teachers and non-teaching staff staying in Covid containment zones will also not be allowed to come to schools.
“All the schools and educational institutes shall be allowed to be opened, for all the classes, in Delhi from 1st Nov. However, schools shall also continue online classes for the students who are not willing to attend classes offline,” Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had tweeted last week.
Attending offline classes is not mandatory. The minister said that parents will not be forced to send their children for offline classes. Schools have received orders to continue all teaching-learning activities in hybrid mode – online and offline. He further added that schools will not call more than 50 per cent of the total students at a time.
In the month of September, the national capital Government allowed the physical reopening of schools for Classes 9 to 12. Schools have also been directed to follow other precautions such as mandatory thermal screening, staggered lunch breaks, alternate seating arrangements and avoiding routine guest visits.
