As per the officials, in a letter, the Delhi University has asked all these colleges to keep on hold the appointment of teaching and non-teaching posts until the time the principals is been appointed.  Currently, these 32 colleges do not have any regular principals.

Delhi University directs 32 colleges to expedite appointment process of regular principals

Delhi University has asked 32 colleges affiliated with it to expedite the appointment of regular principals. As per the officials, in a letter, the Delhi University has asked all these colleges to keep on hold the appointment of teaching and non-teaching posts until the time the principals is been appointed.  Currently, these 32 colleges do not have any regular principals. 

"There are a total of 32 colleges where there are no regular principals. We have asked these colleges to expedite the process for appointing the principals," said Balaram Pani, DU's Dean of Colleges. In the letter to Colleges' governing bodies, the assistant registrar said the teaching and non-teaching posts appointment shall not be conducted either in contract, ad hoc or regular basis until the regular principal is appointed. It was conveyed to colleges to take expeditious action in convening the meeting of the selection committee for appointing a regular principal of the college, the NDTV reported.

"In the meantime, keep a hold on matters about the appointment of teaching and non-teaching posts on contract, ad hoc, guest and regular basis," the letter added. The varsity also said that if any action is taken in filling up the teaching and non-teaching posts, it will be treated null and void.

Meanwhile, Delhi University began a three-day seminar on โ€˜Revisiting the Ideas of India from Swaraj to New India.' Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the seminar along with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Delhi University Vice-chancellor, and several Delhi University faculty and deans attended the seminar. The seminar has been organised by the Department of Political Science, University of Delhi.
