DUTA claims students not able to register for CoA from DU's NTA portal

The Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) has said that students who are seeking admission to the College of Art (CoA) are facing trouble as they are not able to register through the varsity's National Testing Agency (NTA) portal. As per DUTA, the website is not showing CoA in the list of colleges.

DUTA president AK Bhagi has written a letter to Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh demanding the students should be given the option to apply for admission to the College of Arts. The CoA offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in fine arts. He also requested that the varsity's NTA portal should also be updated at the earliest and the last date to register should be extended accordingly. The DUTA also urged that the CoA administration should be directed to begin the admissions for the session 2021-22 for UG and PG courses in fine arts.

Meanwhile, DU VC clarified that the CoA is a Delhi University-affiliated college and its admission process will be conducted separately. Last year in March, the Delhi government announced that CoA will be affiliated with Ambedkar University, as it was facing several problems. With the tension between the Delhi University and the Delhi government, the admissions were not held during the last academic session at CoA.

The DUTA in its letter further raised the concern that the students who wish to enroll in Bachelor of Fine Arts, and Master of Fine Arts, have complained that the CoA option is not showing in the online portal for the registration. It is also pertinent to mention that no NOC has been given by Delhi University to merge CoA with Ambedkar University.

DUTA also demanded that the option should be given to the students to apply for admission in CoA and the NTA portal of the University should be updated at the earliest and the last date to register should be extended accordingly.
