NIFT will have around three regular and one SPOT seat allotment rounds as part of NIFT counselling.

No, the final rank is allocated only at the time of declaration of NIFT Final Result. The NIFT Final Rank is based on performance in all the stages of the Entrance Exam: Stage 1 and Stage 2. Once the NIFTEE Final Result is declared:

• NIFT Ranks cannot be changed or improved
• There will be no option or opportunity for revaluation or rechecking.
• The NIFT rank will determine the course, campus and eligibility for counselling.

NTA will display the Recorded Responses and Question Paper attempted by the candidates on the NTA website prior to the declaration of the results. The recorded responses are likely to be displayed for two to three days.

The components of NIFT fee are

• Tuition Fee (Non-Refundable)
• Library Fee (Per Year) (Non-Refundable)
• Mediclaim & Student Development Fee (Per Year) (Non-Refundable)
• Exam Fee (Per Year) (Non-Refundable)
• Security Deposit (Refundable)
• Alumni Association Membership Fee (Non-Refundable)
• Registration Fee (One Time)

The candidate have to select their choice of NIFT 2026 participating institutes (in the order of priority) at the time of filling out the NIFT 2026 counseling registration form.

A 2000 rank in NIFT can get you admission in NIFT College. But the chances of getting admission to the top NIFT institutes may be less. At the 2000 rank, candidates have limited choice and can get into new NIFTs Colleges. If your rank is under 800, then you are likely to get top NIFT Colleges, like NIFT Delhi, NIFT Mumbai, NIFT Bengaluru, etc. 

NIFT has extended the Choice Filling date further till June 26, 2026, 12 PM Midnight.

As per the NIFT Counselling Guidelines, the last date for withdrawal from the Admission Process 2026 is July 17, 2026 (Midnight) for all candidates.

The registration fee for NIFT is Rs. 9300/-. Candidates must pay the fee before the deadline.

Common Merit Rank of 1500 is a decent rank to secure a NIFT College. You can get colleges, like NIFT Delhi, NIFT Mumbai, NIFT Kolkata, if you belong to OBC, ST, SC or EWS Category. If you are from General Category, then the chances of getting top NIFT Colleges are less. The last date of withdrawal from NIFT Admission process 2026 for all candidates is 17th July, 2026 till 12.00 Midnight.

NIFT 2026 Choice Filling and Locking was June 06, 2026 to June 25, 2026. 

The factor which determine the NIFT Cutoff are given below.

•  Number of candidates participating in the NIFT counselling process
• Merit rank of applicants
• Seat intake for the program opted for admission 
• Category under which admission is sought
• Institute applied for admission 

All the eligible candidates, including absentees of previous rounds of NIFT counselling, will be allowed to participate in NIFT Spot Round of counselling, except those who became ineligible during document verification due to cut-off marks or any other valid reasons, age, etc.

There are three options for candidates.

• Floating (Yes- Upgradation): It means that the candidate’s willingness to be considered for all the higher preferred choices across the campuses for further rounds of seat allotment.
• Sliding (Yes- Upgradation within campus) (applicable for B.Des.): It means that the candidate’s willingness to be considered for all the higher preferred choices within the same campus for further rounds of seat allotment.
• Freezing (No-Upgradation): It means that the candidate’s willingness to accept and remain with the programme and the campus allotted to her/him.

NIFT Counselling fee is INR 9,300.

Only the security deposit will be refunded if admission is withdrawn after July 17, 2026.

Candidates who submit their withdrawal request on or before 17th July 2026 (12:00 Midnight) will be eligible for a refund of the entire fee paid, after deduction of the Registration Fee.

As per the NIFT Counselling Guidelines, the last date for withdrawal from the Admission Process 2026 is July 17, 2026 (Midnight) for all candidates.

NIFT 2026 seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/GEN-EWS/ Person With Disability (PwD) in each programme.

The allotment of seats for NIFT 2026 will be based on the following parameters:

• Choice opted at the time of counseling registration (academic programs + campuses)
• The category of the candidate
• Seat intake in the college opted for admission
• NIFT 2026 merit rank of the candidate.

NIFT First Seat Allotment will be processed for all eligible candidates as per merit. Then conversion of PwD seats into the respective parent category i.e.

• Open (PwD) --> Open
• EWS(PwD) --> EWS
• OBC (PwD) --> OBC(NCL)
• SC (PwD) --> SC
• ST (PwD) --> ST and re-allotment

After completion of the NIFT third regular round, Spot Round of counselling will be carried out.

NIFT Delhi is frequently ranked among the top design colleges in the country. So, the admission cut-off for the institute is pretty high, especially when compared to the lower-ranked colleges. This is because being a higher-ranked college, NIFT Delhi receives a higher number of applicants.

NIFT Provisional Allotment Letter 2026 will be released after the seat allotment for all the rounds.

Locking of choice will be enabled as per NIFT Counselling schedule. Candidates should lock their choices only after they have finalized them. In the absence of choice locking, candidates’ choices will be locked by the system after closing of choice filling schedule. After choice locking, candidate can download their locked choices.

After registration, candidates must fill their preferred course and campus choices by June 25, 2026 (12:00 midnight).

• Pay the registration fee (non-refundable)
• Fill in the choices of academic programs and campuses
