NIFT 2026 Admission notice mentions eligibility and other details application process begins for B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M programmes.

National Testing Agency has released National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) admission notice for 2026 academic cycle, inviting applications for undergraduate, postgraduate, lateral entry, artisan, and PhD programmes. NTA will conduct NIFT Entrance Examination (NIFTEE-2026) on February 8.

Online application process began on December 8, 2025 and candidates can submit forms without a late fee till January 6, 2026. Those applying with a late fee can do so between January 7 and 10, 2026, while application correction window will remain open from January 12 to 14, 2026.

NTA Notice reads: “Candidates may be required to complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC during the online application process for NIFTEE–2026. Applicants must also upload a live photograph, along with the scanned photograph and signature specified in Information Bulletin. Candidates belonging to PwD/PwBD category must upload a valid UDID Card in prescribed format.”

“For Eligibility criteria (age, education, etc.), Syllabus and Scheme of Examination ((Annexure–2), candidates are advised to please refer NIFT Admissions Guidelines – 2026 and Information Bulletin of NIFTEE 2026 (available on the NIFT / NTA websites),” it further added.

NIFTEE-2026: Exam Date, Mode and Languages

As per NTA official notice, Stage-1 examination for various courses is scheduled for February 8, 2026 (Sunday). NTA will conduct exam across 100 cities in India, using either a Computer-Based Test (CBT) or a Pen-and-Paper Test (PBT), depending on test format for different courses. Examination will be available in English and Hindi and in case of any translation mismatch, English version will be treated as final.

Programmes Covered Under NIFTEE-2026

Admission notice outlines that applications are open for B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M programmes, along with lateral entry admissions (NLEA) to B.Des and B.F.Tech courses. International applicants, including NRI, OCI, PIO, SAARC and foreign nationals, may also apply under prescribed norms.

Important Instructions for Applicants

Candidates must ensure they meet eligibility criteria related to age, educational qualifications, category norms and subject-specific requirements such as mathematics for certain programmes. Application process is completely online, and aspirants must upload photographs, signatures, category certificates and UDID certificates for PwD candidates in specified formats.

Q:   When will the NIFT 2026 application form open?

NIFT Application 2026 is expected to open anytime now in November 2025. NIFT 2026 Application forms and Notifications can be out anytime now for B.Des, M.Des, B.F. Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M programmes. The application form will be released at  @nift.ac.in. The NIFT entrance exam application form is the same for all courses. The application fee for NIFT will be around INR 3,000 (INR 1500 for SC, ST, and PwD categories). NIFT Application forms can also be filled with late fees. The late fee will be around INR 5,000.

Q:   What is the last date to fill out the NIFT 2026 application form?

The NTA has released the admission schedule for the NIFT 2026 entrance exam, including the application dates. The last date to fill application will be in the first week of January 2026.

Candidates applying a late fee will have to pay an additional INR 5,000.
