NIFT Entrance Exam 2027
NTA has released the exam dates for NIFT Entrance Exam 2027. The exam will be conducted by NTA on January 10, 2027, as per the NTA Examination Calendar 2027. This NIFT exam date is tentative as per NTA and may be changed due to administrative, academic, statutory, or logistical requirements.
NIFTEE Registration 2027 is expected to open earlier this year. It is expected around the first week of November 2026. Applications will be released on the official website for B.Des, M.Des, and B.F. Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M. Candidates who meet NIFT eligibility criteria for 2027 can apply. Last year, the NIFT Application window was open from December 08, 2025 to January 19, 2026.
The application fee (regular) for the NIFT Exam will be around INR 2,000 for General/OBC (Non-Creamy)/GEN-EWS Category and INR 500 for SC/ ST/ PwD Category. Candidates will also have the option to fill out the application form with a late fees of INR 5,000.

NTA NIFT Written Exam 2027: Stage 1
NIFT written exams will comprise the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT). The GAT paper is mandatory for all courses. However, only B.Des and M.Des candidates need to take the CAT.

Commonly asked questions
The information provided by the candidate when filling out the NIFT application form will be verified by NIFT officials before any candidate is considered for admission.
The verification of original documents will be conducted at the campus when the candidate reports for the allotted regular programme. When reporting for verification, along with the original documents, the candidate must also bring with them self-attested photocopies.
With a late fee of INR 5,000, candidates can apply online until Jan 19. Further, the Phase 1 exam will be held on Feb 7, 2027(expected).
NIFT entrance exam for the B. Des programme will include CAT and GAT written tests in stage 1. Candidates who qualify stage 1 have to next appear in a Situation Test. To prepare for the GAT written exam, the candidate needs to work on improving their analytical and logical abilities, and also keep track of GK and Current Affairs.
