NIFT has announced the Spot Round 2025 for admission to vacant seats across campuses. Candidates with a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) in UG, PG (Regular), and NLEA (UG) programs can register from August 1 to August 4, 2025. The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has announced the Spot Round Seat Allotment 2025 to fill a few remaining seats across its campuses. Candidates who have cleared the NIFT Entrance Exam 2025 and hold a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) for UG, PG (Regular), and NLEA (UG) programs are eligible to participate.

The NIFT Spot Counselling tentative vacancy list, course- and campus-wise, has been made available on the official NIFT Admissions Portal: https://nift.admissions.nic.in/tentative-vacancy-position/

The Online Registration for Spot Round will open today, August 1, 2025 (Friday) and remain active till August 4, 2025 (Monday), 12:00 midnight.

Who is eligible and can register for NIFT Spot Counselling 2025?

  • Candidates who have a Common Merit Rank (CMR).
  • Candidates who have not been allotted a seat in the previous Seat Allotment Rounds 2025.
  • Candidates who have been allotted a seat and paid the fee in previous rounds
  • Candidates who have been allotted a seat in the 1st to 3rd Round but have not paid the fees.
  • Candidates who have withdrawn from the seat allotted in previous rounds of the Seat Allotment 2025.
  • Candidates with a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) who have not registered for Seat Allotment and/or have not filled in preference/choice filling & not uploaded the required documents during the registration for Seat Allotment.
  • All the Eligible Candidates having a Common Merit Rank under NLEA (Lateral Entry Admission)

Candidates are requested to read the official notification released by NIFT before applying for NIFT Spot Round 2025.

Q:   When will the NIFT 2026 application form open?
A:

NIFT Application 2026 is open now. The registration started on December 08, 2025. NIFT 2026 Application forms and Notifications can be out anytime now for B.Des, M.Des, B.F. Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M programmes. The application form will be released at  @nift.ac.in. The NIFT entrance exam application form is the same for all courses. The application fee for NIFT is INR 2,000 (INR 500 for SC, ST, and PwD categories). NIFT Application forms can also be filled with late fees. The late fee is INR 5,000.

Q:   How can I select exam centres when applying for NIFT 2026?
A:

The candidate will have to select an exam centre for NIFT 2026 when filling out the application form.

After completing the registration process, log in to the application portal and click on the exam centre selection option. Then select your preferred city from the drop down menu.

The NIFT 2026 exam will be conducted across 82 centers in India. Note that each of these exam cities may have one or more exam centres.
