Doctors association seeks clarification on upcoming NeXT examination

The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has asked the National Medical Commission (NMC) and Health Ministry to clear doubts related to the upcoming National Exit Test (NeXT).

FORDA India tweeted, "Another reminder to authorities to kindly take a note of the uncertainties regarding upcoming postgraduate admissions, i.e NEET or NeXT. Such wavering situation is highly unreasonable for aspirants. @NMC_IND must clarify the doubts and come up with notification. @MoHFW_INDIA"

FORDA released a statement in July also to request authorities to clear all doubts of PG aspirants regarding the NeXT entrance exam. The statement said that due to no follow-up communication from either NMC or NBE on NeXT, the doctors feel disappointed.

The FORDA's release also highlighted that during the Covid pandemic period, many PG aspirants have faced and braved innumerable hurdles on their way to higher education including the postponement of NEET PG Counselling 2020 followed by delayed exam and counselling for NEET PG 2021.

Recently, Rama Medical College Hospital and Research Centre issued a circular that stated "National Exit Test is going to be a reality for MBBS Batch 2018 who would be appearing for their final MBBS Part II Exam in the year 2023. NeXT will be held in two phases - NeXT I and NeXT II. NeXT I will be held on a single day all over the country and will be conducted by NBE. It will be MCQ based papers. Rama Medical College Hospital and Research Centre will be running mock practice tests on fortnightly bases starting from August 31, 2022."

The circular was highlighted on social media by the All India Students Dental Association/DENTODONTICS.
