Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has started the AEEE 2026 registration process. The last date to apply for phase 1 is January 15. This year, AMrita has introduced a major change in the AEEE exam pattern. Read details below.

AEEE 2026 Exam Pattern Revised: 'Quantitative Aptitude' Introduced; Registrations Open

Amrita has changed the AEEE 2026 exam pattern this year. A new section of Quantitative Aptitude has been added. This section will now carry 10 MCQs of 30 marks. Other than that there will be four sections like previous year - Mathematics with 40 questions, Physics with 25 questions, Chemistry with 20 questions and English with five questions. Each question will carry 3 marks and there will be a negative marking of -1 for any wrong answer.

AEEE 2026 registration link is active at aeee.amrita.edu. This year Amrita has increased the registration fee by INR 100. To apply for AEEE only and for AEEE and JEE Main, candidaes have to pay INR 1300. The candidates applying only via JEE Main 2026 scores have to pay INR 500. However, candidates who will appear for the AEEE 2026 exam from any centre at abroad have to pay USD 85 or INR 7500.

The Phase 1 exams will be held from January 29 to February 1. There will be two shifts on each day. Shifgt 1 will be held from 09:30 AM to 12:00 Noon and the shifts 2 from 2 pm to 4:30 pm.

Amrita will allow the registered candidates to sect their preferred exam date and time using the AEEE slot booking process. The AEEE 2026 phase 1 slot booking will start on January 10.

The last date to apply for AEEE 2026 phase 2 exams will be announced later on, however, the phase 2 exam dats have been notified. The AEEE 2026 phase 2 exam will be held from April 25 to 30.  Candidates who will appear in the phase 1 of the AEEE 2026 will be allowed to improve their scores by attending Phase 2 by paying an additional fee of INR 600.

Q:   What is the weightage of Maths section in AEEE?
A:

Maths has the maximum weightage in AEEE CBT exam. It carries a total of 120 marks. This section has 40 MCQs and each MCQ carries 3 marks. Thus candidates must focus in this section and try to score well. Candidates must adhere to the AEEE syllabus and prepare all the topics given in the maths section. Through the syllabus of AEEE, candidates can get an idea of the topics, subtopics, chapters, and units to be covered while preparing for the AEEE exam. The questions in AEEE are based on the syllabus in Class 11 and 12. All the questions are of Multiple Choice Types and have four answers of equal weightage.

Q:   What is the exam pattern of AEEE?
A:

The questions in AEEE are based on the syllabus in Class 11th & Class 12th. All the questions are of Multiple-Choice type and have four options as possible answers. Candidates can choose the most appropriate answer for each question in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Answers marked can be changed later, before the final submission of all the answers. 3 (Three) marks are awarded for each correct answer and -1 (negative one) for each wrong answer.

  • 40 questions are asked from maths
  • 25 questions come from physics
  • 20 questions come from chemistry
  • 10 questions from Quantitative Aptitude
  • 5 questions are asked from English

Total 100 MCQs are asked of 300 marks.
