AKTU Elective Curriculum 2025: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will introduce a variety of minor and elective courses for BTech, management, and pharmacy students from the 2025-26 academic session, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The move will benefit students in more than 750 government and private engineering colleges affiliated with AKTU across Uttar Pradesh.

Elective Curriculum Courses at AKTU

The Academic Council of AKTU has approved new electives, including Vedic Mathematics, Indian Music, Astronomy, Women’s Health, and several others, designed to promote holistic student development. “Along with the core subjects of engineering, management, and pharmacy, our students will also gain knowledge from diverse fields to ensure multifaceted growth,” said AKTU Vice-Chancellor Prof. JP Pandey, highlighting subjects such as Sanskrit, Science, Town Planning and Architecture, Wellness, and Psychology.

Prof. Pandey explained that the courses will be taught through online study materials and guided mentoring. He added that the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has developed a model curriculum to strengthen value-based education. The introduction of these courses is part of a larger initiative to integrate the Indian knowledge system into the curriculum, covering cultural and philosophical traditions in philosophy, science, art, medicine, and mathematics.
