To meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in emerging technologies, BITS Pilani and DIAT will design and deliver certification courses in a hybrid format.

BITS Pilani has signed an MoU to partner with the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune to do joint research, develop cutting-edge technology, upskill professionals, and nurture entrepreneurship in critical technology domains. This is facilitated mainly through the Center for Research Excellence in National Security (CRENS) established at BITS Pilani.

As part of the agreement, both institutions will engage in knowledge exchange activities, like workshops, seminars, and conferences in the field of National Security. Joint research work will be at the cornerstone of this collaboration. They will jointly conduct research projects: short-term consultancy assignments for addressing specific issues in the industry, and long-term initiatives for exploring emerging and future areas. These collaborations will encompass the joint usage of faculty, research scholars, and lab infrastructures.

Commenting on the MoU, Prof. Ramgopal Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BITS Pilani, said: "Our partnership with DIAT Pune reflects a shared vision that through research and innovation, we can synergistically elevate the defence capability of India and give a technological push to India. Through CRENS we aim to address the veritable challenges and bring about self-reliance in the strategic sectors.”

Dr. BHVS Narayana Murthy, Vice-Chancellor, DIAT Pune, remarked: β€œDIAT Pune is committed to fostering India's defence technological advancements through focused research, innovation, and skill development. BITS Pilani has always been at the forefront of innovation and our partnership with the prestigious institution will allow us to syndicate resources and expertise to address challenging issues hindering National Security and create an ecosystem for collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship.”

To meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in emerging technologies, BITS Pilani and DIAT will design and deliver certification courses in a hybrid format. These programs will cater to working professionals in Indian PSUs, industries, and organizations, particularly those in the National Security sector.
