Breaking: MHT CET 2027 Both Attempts to Be Held After Class 12 Boards
Big news for Maharashtra CET aspirants as the MHT CET 2027 exam schedule gets a revision. Earlier, there were plans of conducting the first attempt of MHT CET 2027 in December-January but latest updates confirm that both attempts will be held after class 12th boards. The decision offers students more time for preparation and also reduces stress of overlapping schedules.
According to reports, both attempts of the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) 2027 are expected to be conducted after the Class 12 board examinations. The Maharashtra government has decided to change the earlier schedule, under which the first attempt was planned for December 2026 and the second for April 2027. The two attempts are now expected to take place between March and May 2027.
According to officials quoted in the report, the Maharashtra higher and technical education department decided against conducting the first attempt in December after receiving feedback from different parts of the state. Some parents and counsellors, particularly from rural areas, had requested that both attempts be held after the board examinations. The revised schedule is expected to give students more time to prepare for their board examinations before appearing for the state-level engineering and pharmacy entrance test.

MHT CET 2027: Four-week gap between two attempts
Under the revised plan, a gap of around four weeks will be maintained between the two MHT CET 2027 attempts. The authorities will consider the best of both attempts for those who opt for both sessions. In 2026, the authorities decided to conduct the exam twice, once in April and May. The decision was taken to make the format similar to the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which allows engineering aspirants to appear in more than one session. For the 2027 cycle, the state had initially planned to conduct the first attempt in December 2026 and the second in April 2027. However, the revised plan shifts both examinations to the period after the Class 12 board exams.
