Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2026

• Nationality: Indian citizens and international candidates from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Ethiopia, and UAE can apply for GATE 2026.
• Educational Qualification: Candidates must be currently in the 3rd year or higher of an undergraduate degree (B.Tech/B.E./B.Arch/B.Sc./B.Pharm) OR already completed a government-approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, or Humanities. OR Final-year students of MSc, MA, MCA, or equivalent programmes are also eligible.
• Age Limit: No upper age limit for appearing in GATE.

GATE Application Fees (as per 2025)

The GATE 2026 application fee for female candidates and those belonging to SC, ST, or PwD categories is INR 900, which increases to INR 1,400 if submitted after the regular deadline. For all other candidates, including foreign nationals, the fee is INR 1,800, rising to INR 2,300 with a late fee (As per last year).
