The GATE ECE (electronics and communication systems) syllabus has seen some minor changes. Around 90% of the syllabus remains the same. However, some slight modifications have been done in the GATE 2027 ECE syllabus. Here’s a section-wise GATE EC syllabus analysis:

GATE 2027 ECE Syllabus: What Added, Modified, and Removed

GATE 2027 ECE Syllabus: IIT Madras have launched its official website along with exam dates and revised registration and syllabus. This year, along with new GATE paper (Robotics and Automation) introduced, the authorities have also revised the syllabus. The revised curriculum features refined sub-topics, new conceptual additions, and select removals across multiple sections to better reflect core domain demands.Β

GATE 2027 Engineering Mathematics Syllabus

The syllabus now explicitly includes Correlation and regression analysis under Probability and Statistics. Meanwhile, Differential Equations topics have been restructured into Linear differential equations, Euler-Cauchy equation, and Nonhomogeneous equations.Β 

Network, Signals and Systems

  • Important additions include FIR and IIR filter design

  • The sampling continuous-time signals section has been revised to focus specifically on the Nyquist sampling theorem, sampling, and reconstruction, while discrete-time processing of continuous-time signals has been removed.Β 

Electronic Devices and Analog Circuits

  • Formation of energy bands in solids and Scaling in MOSFETs have been introduced.

  • In Analog Circuits, Dominant-pole (Miller) compensation and phase margin are now part of the Op-amp syllabus.

Control Systems and CommunicationsΒ 

  • PID controller included in GATE ECE syllabus 2027

  • Lag, lead and lag-lead compensation has been broadened to compensators

  • Information Theory: "Source coding" has been added to the syllabus

Unchanged Sections in GATE 2027 ECE Syllabus

  • Digital circuits and Electromagnetics remain completely unchanged having the same topics.Β 

Candidates are advised to go through the revised GATE 2027 syllabus carefully and prepare for the exam accordingly.Β
