GATE 2026 admit card will be released on January 2, 2026. Students can download GATE admit card at the GOAPS portal. The GATE 2026 exam will be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15 for 30 papers. The GATE 2026 exam date and time have been released by IIT Guwahati. 

Steps to Download GATE Exam 2026 Admit Card 

IGATE 2026 admit card release date is January 2, 2026. The time for admit card release is not disclosed by the authorities and students can download their hall ticket using the following steps below-

• Visit GATE official page and click on candidate login page
• Enter enrollment ID and password
• Select the option to download admit card
• Save and exit

The GATE 2026 exam hall ticket will carry important details, such as applicant’s name, paper code, exam date and time, photo, signature, and instructions, etc. Students must check all details carefully before downloading the admit card.

GATE 2026 Exam Day Guidelines and Dress Code

Students appearing for GATE exam 2026 must carry their admit card along with a valid ID proof (used at the time of registration). Besides that, students must follow the GATE exam guidelines mentioned below-

• Any kind of electronic gadgets are prohibited inside exam hall
• Text materials, such as sheet, study materials are not allowed inside exam hall
• Students must reach the exam centre at least one hour before the commencement of exam
• Scribble pad will be provided inside the exam hall for rough work. It must be returned to the invigilator after the exam.

GATE Dress Code for Male and Female Students 

The authorities do not release dress code guidelines for the GATE 2026 exam, but it is advisable to wear loose and comfortable clothing to centre for the checking process. Here’s what one can avoid wearing to the GATE 2026 test centre -

• Head accessories like caps, hat, headbands, etc.
• Metal items like belts, brooch
• Bags, backpacks, scarf, jewellery, etc.
