GATE Registration 2026 Closes on September 28; Check Fees & Important Documents

Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati will be closing the GATE registration window on September 28, 2025 (without late fees). Candidates must complete GATE 2026 registration online by visiting official website: gate2026.iitg.ac.in without payment of any late fee. However, those who miss this deadline can fill out GATE 2026 registration form till October 9 with payment of late fees.
GATE will be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The exam will be held in two shifts every day. As per official website, GATE 2026 morning session will be conducted between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. Whereas, GATE afternoon session will be held between 2:30 and 5:30 pm.

While filling GATE application form, candidates must upload below-mentioned documents:
- Candidate’s photograph and signature (as per specifications)
- Valid photo ID
- Category certificate (SC/ST), if applicable, in PDF
- UDID/PwD certificate, if applicable, in PDF
- Dyslexic certificate, if applicable, in PDF

The last date to register for GATE 2026 with late fees was October 13. For submission with late fees, the application form window remained active from October 7 to October 13. The registration fee with late fees is as follows -
- For female/SC/ST and PwD candidates, the fee is INR 1500
- For all other candidates, including foreign nationals, the fee is INR 2500
Yes, candidates can change their GATE paper at the time of GATE form correction process. The last date to change primary paper is November 10. Candidates can edit at the GOAPS portal using their enrollment ID and password.
