GATE Registration 2027: If you have not submitted your GATE 2027 application form yet, now is the perfect time to avoid heavy website traffic and extra charges. The GATE registration 2027 last date to apply with no late fee is September 27, 2026. Candidates who want to appear for GATE exam must register now to avoid late fee charges. Ensure that you keep all details and documents ready before filling GATE exam form. 

Why apply before GATE 2027 registration deadline

Candidates who apply through the official GOAPS portal (gate2027.iitm.ac.in) before the regular deadline will pay the standard application fee. While IIT Madras has provided an extended registration window until October 5, 2026, applying during this extended period will cost you a late fee of INR 500 per paper.

GATE 2027 Application Fees

• Regular Deadline (Till Sept 27): INR 1000 for Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates and INR 2000 for all other candidates. 

• Extended Deadline (Till Oct 5): INR 1500 for Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates; INR 2500 for all other candidates.

DigiLocker ID Verification made mandatory

Creating a verified DigiLocker account is highly recommended for Indian applicants. However, IIT Madras has officially announced that candidates with an unverified DigiLocker account can still apply for GATE 2027. These applications will undergo manual scrutiny to verify necessary documents after the GATE registration 2027 deadline closes.

Keep your recent passport-size photograph, scanned signature, valid photo ID (like Aadhaar or PAN card), and category certificate (if applicable) ready on your device before logging in. 

How to fill GATE 2027 Application Form

The process to apply for GATE paper can be checked below:

• Go to official website- gate2027.iitm.ac.in

• Continue with DigiLocker account, and complete the registration process to generate enrolment ID and password

• Log in to your new account and fill out your personal, academic, and exam city preferences 

• Complete facial registration process and upload documents

• Pay GATE form fees and submit form
