IISER Berhampur to Conduct IISER IAT 2026: Check Exam Details and Updates

IISER IAT 2026 Conducting Body Announced; Check Latest Updates

According to the office memorandum, the IISER IAT 2026-27 conducting body has been decided. “In pursuance to a meeting of Directors of all IISERs, it has been decided that IISER Berhampur will host and organise the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026.”, the official notification read. Prof. Ashok Kumar Ganguli, the Director of IISER, Berhampur, is now also the Chairperson of the IISER Admissions Board 2026. 7 IISERs established under the Government of India, offer admission to several courses, including B.Tech., BS and BS-MS Dual Degree programmes.

The allocation of seats in the participating institutes shall be the responsibility of the newly formed IISER Admission Board (IAB-2026). The seats will be filled as per the merit list prepared on the basis of the IISER Aptitude Test 2026. The IISER IAT exam is an online test which is held for 3 hours. It consists of 60 questions, 15 questions each from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. The maximum mark in the exam is 240. Candidates must meet the cutoff marks to be included in the merit list.

The official notification further clarified that the IAB-2026 would be especially responsible for:

• Ensuring that the Institutions concerned have prepared their seat metrics, taking into account the extent of reservation prescribed by the Government of India from time to time;
• Finalisation of procedure and schedule for seat allocation.
• Finalisation of resource centres and help centres, and making necessary arrangements at those centres;
• Printing of brochure, designing online choice filling forms
• Maintenance of website and upfront declarations of procedures, rules and other specific guidelines related to the counselling process
• Distribution and collection of seat choices online
• Laying down of procedure for verification of certificates and credentials;

IISER Berhampur will now release the IISER IAT 2026 official notification online. The authority is likely to conduct the exam in May 2026.
