IIT Dhanbad Placement Drive: 4 Students Secure ₹80 Lakh Packages, Over 350 Offers in 11 Days

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dhanbad has recorded good start to its placement season, with four Computer Science Engineering students receiving ₹80 lakh per annum packages, marking highest offer so far.
In 11 days of Phase 1 placements, institute has crossed 350 campus selections, reflecting strong recruiter interest and solid early hiring momentum.
High Packages, Strong Recruiter Participation
According to IIT Dhanbad's placement cell, multiple top companies have visited its campus, contributing to increase in offers. Early phase has seen more than 200 pre-placement offers (PPOs), taking total number of placed students to over 550, with the total number expected to cross 600 as placement drive still continues.
Top recruiters like BEL made 11 offers, InMobi (5), Accenture S&C (9), Accenture Japan (2), Microsoft (Applied Scientist 2) and NVIDIA Software (1) have rolled out high quality roles across techology and engineering domains.
IIT Placement Season Overview
Placements across all 23 IITs started on December 1 and IIT Dhanbad’s strong early performance indicates a positive trend for this recruitment season. Last year, institute saw its top offer touch ₹1.22 crore and this year’s initial numbers suggest another competitive season ahead.
Yes, placements at IIT Dhanbad are good. During the placement drive 2025, 100% placement was recorded in BTech Double Major course. BTech and MTech placement rate in 2025 was 82.49% and 69.71%.
The best placement rate in 2025 was recorded for BTech Environmental Engineering, wherein the placement rate was 100%. It was followed by BTech CSE and BTech ECE with placement percentage of 92.14% and 90.09%. For BTech Double Major degree, the placement rate in 2025 was 100%.
The placement rate recorded during BTech + MTech placement 2025 was 100%, except Civil Engineering, wherein the placement rate was 50%.
The placement rate recorded during Integrated MTech placements 2025 for Applied Geology, Applied Geophysics and Mathematics & computing branches was 87.5%, 81.82% and 90.91%.
