IIT Kharagpur has invited applications for a three-month online course on ‘Machine Learning For Soil And Crop Management’. Students of agricultural engineering, agriculture and environmental science can apply. The course will be offered through the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) platform. 

The course has been designed for undergraduate students who want to apply their knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, digital soil mapping, image processing and portable sensors for developing an integrated and advanced soil and crop management system. The course is free to enrol and learn from. However, if the participants want a certificate, they will have to register and write the proctored exam conducted in person at any of the designated exam centres. The exam is optional for a fee of INR 1,000. Only the e-certificate will be made available, which they can download for use. There will be no hard copies issued.
