IIT Madras invites applications for diploma in in data science, programming
Candidates will have to appear for an entry qualifier exam and the last date to register for the same at https://diploma.iitm.ac.in is November 15. The exam is scheduled to take place on December 12.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has invited applications for eight-month diploma programmes in data science and programming.
Anyone with 2 years of UG education can apply
Learners need not have an engineering or computer science background to apply for the programme. The programme is open to anyone who have completed at least two years of undergraduate in any discipline through any mode. Candidates will have to take an entry qualifier exam and the last date to register for the same is November 15. The exam is scheduled to take place on December 12 and those who clear the exam will be allowed to register and join the programme. Classes will begin on December 27, 2021.
A learner has to complete eight courses to obtain a diploma, either in programming or data science. The programme has the flexibility required for working professionals as well as students as the content delivery will be in online mode. The institute is also offering fee waivers up to 75 per cent based on the socio-economic background of the applicants. There will be live sessions with course instructors besides in-person quizzes and end-term exams to evaluate learners.
The portal for the diploma entry was launched on October 4 this year by Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), in the presence of Thirumala Arohi, senior vice president, Infosys Limited, and Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT Madras.
