Job to be offered to top 15 performers

At the end of the course, Sony India Software Centre will offer employment to the top 15 performers from the course. The rest of the students will be able to sit for IIT Madras placements. Pravartak Technologies Foundation (PTF) will guide the rest of the students with placements by arranging interviews through the IIT-M placement cell.

Highest scorers to get stipend

The free program will also offer a stipend to the highest scorers in the entrance examination, followed by a mandatory interview for entry into the course.

The course will specifically focus on students from non-urban parts of India, said IIT-M director Professor V Kamakoti. This initiative will benefit them in bridging the gap between their skills and the industry requirements.

The duration of the program is six-month. Sony India Finishing School Skill Development Training Program is a full-time course offered in physical classrooms. Certificates will be awarded to the students upon successfully completing this course.
