IIT Patna MTech programme registration 2025 has started online. GATE qualified candidates can apply for regular/full time IIT Patna MTech admission at the official website.

IIT Patna MTech Admission 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna is accepting the MTech registration form online. Candidates with valid GATE 2025 score can apply for IIT Patna MTech admission (regular/full time) online at the official website: iitp.ac.in. The last date to fill out the IIT Patna MTech registration 2025 form is April 28.

The application fee for IIT Patna MTech Regular & Full-Time / Project Staff candidates is INR 1,000 for male applicants belonging to the GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL categories and INR 500 for female applicants in the same categories. For SC/ST/PwD, the fee is INR 500 for both male and female applicants. The fee for Sponsored, Self-Financed, or Part-Time candidates is INR 1,000 for both male and female applicants.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to IIT Patna MTech Programme

The IIT Patna provides admission to the MTech programme in five categories: regular and full-time, sponsored (full time), self-financed, project staff, and part-time. Candidates can check admission eligibility criteria for all five categories:

• Regular & Full Time: The programme is open to all categories of candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/M.Sc. or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE, etc.) and a valid GATE score. Regular candidates (except IIT B.Tech. graduates with a CPI of 8.0+) must have a valid GATE score. Minimum eligibility: 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10) for GEN/OBC/EWS and 55% marks (CGPA 6.0/10) for SC/ST.
• Sponsored (FULL-TIME): Applicants with at least two years of work experience in a recognized organization are eligible for MTech admission if sponsored by their employer. The marks/CGPA criteria remain the same as for regular full-time candidates. Sponsored applicants do not need a GATE score and are not eligible for assistantships. They must be regular employees of the sponsoring organisation and will be selected based on a Written Test and/or Interview.
• Self-financed: Those in this category are admitted through Vishlesan I-Hub Foundation under TIH. Eligible candidates must have a B.Tech./B.E. in CSE/IT/ECE/EE or an MCA with at least 60% marks (CGPA 6.5/10). Selection is based on a Written Test and/or Interview.
• Project staff: Candidates must be working on a sponsored project at the Institute, with at least one year of the project remaining at admission. If the project ends before MTech completion, the category will change to self-financed. Marks/CGPA criteria are the same as for regular full-time candidates. Selection is based on a Written Test and/or Interview. GATE qualification is mandatory.
• Part-time: This category is for employed professionals (including IIT Patna staff) pursuing MTech while working. No assistantship is provided. Marks/CGPA criteria are the same as for regular full-time candidates. Selection is based on a Written Test and/or Interview.
