Who are eligible for IITGN & AIT Thailand Double Degree Programme?
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of both AIT and IITGN. The institute that admits a candidate (the “admitting institute”) will serve as the primary point of contact for any queries.
- Minimum eligibility criteria for IITGN: Candidates must have a minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA/CPI (on a 10-point scale) in BE, BTech, 4-year BS, MSc, or equivalent. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates admitted by IITGN, the minimum requirement is 50% marks or 5.0 CGPA/CPI.
- Minimum eligibility criteria for AIT: Candidates must have a 4-year bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.75/4.0 or equivalent and an English proficiency score in IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or AIT-EET. While IITGN does not require an English test, AIT does, so all applicants must meet the requirement. Indian nationals can take the AIT-EET online anytime before applying and must score at least 6.0.
- Joining and Residency Plan: Students will begin their programme at their admitting institute. Those starting at AIT will complete two semesters at AIT followed by two semesters at IITGN, while those starting at IITGN will spend their first two semesters there before moving to AIT for the remaining two semesters.
Upon admission, students will be automatically enrolled at the partner institute without any additional process. Each student will be assigned a faculty advisor at both AIT and IITGN to provide academic guidance throughout the programme.
