Many IIT Delhi alumni have also come forward to support IKS activities

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi will launch the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Programme, a project sponsored by its alumnus Ram Gupta, on October 17, 2024.

As per a release issued by the institute, a key highlight of the ceremony will be a panel discussion on “Indian Knowledge Systems for Today’s Futures," featuring renowned experts like Rajiv Kumar, former Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog; Santosh Misra, former IAS & Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu; Dr. Sampadananda Mishra, Rishihood University; Rajiv Vasudevan, CEO, AyurVAID Hospitals; and Dr. Raj Vedam, faculty at Arsha Seva Kendram. Prof. K. Ramasubramanian from IIT Bombay, a distinguished scholar in the field of Indian knowledge systems, will chair the panel.

Prof. P. V. Madhusdhan Rao, Dean, Alumni Relations, IIT Delhi, said, “Indian Knowledge Systems is an important area highlighted by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and the project is a manifestation of our commitment to NEP & IKS. Many IIT Delhi alumni have also come forward to support IKS activities.”

This event marks an important step in advancing the integration of Indian knowledge traditions with contemporary academic and research frameworks, fostering dialogue between civilizational wisdom and scientific inquiry.

Dr. Nomesh Bolia, Professor, Dept of Mech. Engg, IIT Delhi and Principal Investigator of the IKS project, said, “The project aspires to create four knowledge platforms in the broad domains of Public Systems, Education & Pedagogy, Technology and Health & Well-Being, to not just be inspired by IKS as something that happened in the past but also develop thought on how it can be relevant for us now and in the future.”

Q:   Is it worth doing MSc from IIT Delhi?

Yes, IIT Delhi is a good institute for MSc aspirants. The institute has got a good overall rank from NIRF in the 2023 rankings. It has been ranked at the third spot among top colleges in the country. Moreover, IIT Delhi also provide placements support. As per its 2023 placement report, the median package offered to PG (2-year) candidates was INR 12.50 LPA. Some of the top companies that participate in its placements drive are Microsoft, Cisco, Accenture, etc.

The Department of Management Studies (DMS), IIT Delhi, also known as DMS IIT Delhi offers a two-year MBA course at undergraduate courses in a full-time mode. IIT Delhi is a decent option to pursue an MBA degree. IIT Delhi ranked 4 by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in the Management category IN 2024. Talking about DMS IIT Delhi MBA placements 2023, the average package offered was INR 25.82 LPA and the highest package stood at INR 41.13 LPA. A placement percentage of 100% was achieved. Thus, it is a good institute for an MBA.
