JEE Main 2014: Eligibility criteria for Polytechnic/Engineering Diploma holders

JEE Main 2014 aspirants who have pursued various polytechnic or engineering diploma programme from various State Board of Technical Education need to adhere to the eligibility criteria recently released on the official website.

According to the notification, AICTE has informed that who have completed Engineering/ Architecture/ Pharmacy Diploma programme from an AICTE approved Institution with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy are eligible for admission to 2nd year of 4 year degree Engineering/Pharmacy and 5 years Architecture programme respectively through Lateral Entry. Therefore, these aspirants need not appear for any entrance examination.

Also, if a diploma level candidate who seeks admissions to 1st year of 4 year degree Engineering/Pharmacy or 5 year Architecture programme possesses a 12th Certificate, then he is eligible for admission on the basis of Class 12th Certificate.

Please note that the polytechnic/engineering diploma holder aspirant who has done his/her class 12th from a Board between year 2012 to 2014, should immediately update and upload his/her class 12th result information on the official website of JEE through this link latest by July 3, 2014. In case, if the aspirant fails to do the same, it would be assumed that he/she is only a diploma holder and will not be treated eligible for admission to B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Planning as per above guidelines of AICTE.
