JEE Main 2015 cut off scores were released today along with JEE Main 2015 scores. According to the release, the cut off score for general category students is 105, while the cut off score for OBC – NCL, SC and ST category students is 70, 50 and 44 respectively.

It has been observed that the cut off for JEE Main has dropped by 10 marks this year as compared to JEE Main 2014. The dip in marks is supposedly due to the tough question paper of JEE Main 2015.

Validating the same, Ajay Antony, Course Director JEE, T.I.M.E said, “Students from various centres across the country had mentioned after the exam that Physics was relatively more difficult than Maths and Chemistry. Some of the Physics questions were lengthy and needed innovative thinking process to solve them. Questions in Mathematics were rated as  being 'Easy to Medium' difficult by cross section of students. The Chemistry Questions held its line of difficulty as that of the previous year’s edition. So the shift in the cut off being lower by 10 points can be largely attributed to Physics Questions being more tougher and in a lower magnitude to Mathematics paper."
