JEE Main 2016 Exam Dates

JEE Main 2016 exam dates have finally been announced by CBSE(Central Board of Secondary Education). According the press release, JEE Main 2016 exam will be conducted on three days. While, the Offline exam(pen & paper based examination) will be held on April 3, 2016, the Online exam(Computer Based Examination) will be held on April 9 and 10, 2016.

JEE Main 2016 registrations will commence on December 1, 2015. Students will be able to apply for the exam till December 31, 2015. The detailed information bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, eligibility criteria to appear, examination fee, cities of examination, State code of eligibility, age relaxation, process of normalization of marks, eligibility for admission, reservation policies and important dates will be released on the JEE Main official website on December 1, 2015.

This year, the States of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland & Odisha too have joined the JEE Main system. Thus, students aspiring for admission to engineering colleges of these states are also advised to fill the JEE Main 2016 application form online.

Also, admissions to all the institutes including the NITs, IIITs and CFTIs will be based on  40% weightage to school boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE Main. The very information released by CBSE has put an end to all the speculation about IIT and NIT admissions not requiring board marks from 2016.
