NTA has adopted some new measures to calculate the merit position of candidates in case of a tie

National Testing Agency has added a few new criteria to resolve the tie in case more than one candidate obtains the same total NTA score. The new tie-breaking criteria will be used in addition to the earlier rules for calculating the JEE Main 2022 results in case of a tie. As per the details provided by the NTA regarding the new criteria,

β€œCandidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers for individual subjects, age of candidate and the serial number of candidate’s application number in ascending order will also be used for resolving the tie in addition to earlier criteria.”

The new criteria of tie-breaking have been adopted for all three papers, Paper 1 for BTech, Paper 2A for BArch and Paper 2B for BPlan. Candidates can check below the new criteria
